We've just published an update for all EMA-covered customers. To
run this
update you must be an EMA subscriber through November of 2009 or
beyond.
Download the update from this link: www.rpms.com/product/new/setup.exe
Instructions for processing the update can be previewed
right here. If you believe that you are eligible to install
this
update, you may want to double check to be sure that you have applied
the EMA
code you were sent when you last enrolled. From within RPMS,
click Help,
then About RPMS V7. The last line of the message indicates the
last EMA
coverage code applied. The update will not run if the EMA Covered
Through
date is prior to November 30, 2009.
If you skipped the September 7.9.10 update or any
previous,
all the features of that update are installed with this release.
This includes the database update of that release that will also be
automatically
applied by the first user in your agency to upgrade, if no one in the
company
has previously moved to 7.9.10.
This update has a great new enhancement for the E-Data feature, as well
as a
few miscellaneous and/or and minor bug fixes. The E-Data feature
now sets
up and can use what we call an "Imap." Imaps are user-defined summary invoices maps of
Excel
files. Now, rather than having us program individual maps for each type
of data
that you receive, RPMS will allow you to set up your own maps for
summary
invoices or sales reports submitted via Excel.
At this time, Imaps do not handle products
or points
of sale (POS), although those two types of data are planed for a future
update.
The Imaps are also not suitable for
orders, non-excel
data, or multiple record type files with necessary values on different
record
types. To explore the Imap feature,
in the
Administration system select Utilities, then Imap
Management. You can add, change, or delete an Imap
even if you don't have the E-Data feature. However, you will need to
have the
E-Data feature to process an Imap using
the E-Data
wizard. For more information about the Imap
feature,
read chapter 8 of the updated Administrator's Guide that is installed
with the
update under Start, [All] Progams, RPMS
Version 7,
Documentation.
To see a video about
the Imap feature, and the other enhancements provided in 2009 and prior
years, watch the EMA
Development Theater.
Other movies on-line
include our
comany introduction and demo, plus demonstrations of the E-Data Wizard,
the Direct
Marketing feature, and Setting up a Forecast.
