About Our Company

Our History
We trace our roots to a service business started in 1969 by RPMS founder Bob Williams. That company was called Smart Enterprises.  Smart fulfilled the distinct data processing needs of independent manufacturers rep agencies by collecting paper documents from rep firms, and then processing the information on a mainframe computer to create sales analysis and commission reports on large, green-bar paper.

In the early 1980s, the advent of the personal computer pushed Bob and two of his mainframe partners, Rod Cook and Jim Morris, to port their knowledge into computer code for the PC platform. They named their new program Rep Profit Management System and abbreviated it as RPMS.  The very first installation of RPMS in 1984 ran on an original IBM PC and used DOS 2.1 as an operating system, boasted 512KB of RAM for processing, and used a 10MB hard disk for storage.

In the later 1980’s, the company began to grow very quickly.  Since those very early days, nearly 3,000 rep firms around the world have purchased RPMS.

Our Company Today
RPMS is both our key product name, and the dba that we use for RepSoft, LLC.  We are the successor company to RPMS, LLC – the company that included the original three founders.

Our key staff members today include Jim Adam, who directs the product development efforts for the company. Jim has been with the company for 29 years. Brent Charles runs our sales, marketing, and public relations, and has 31 years with RPMS.  Angela Scott manages our technical support, has been our customers’ favorite technical resource for over 24 years. Diane Adam is our company accountant and a relative newcomer with 10 years of service. Murray Nolte (legacy code) and Gerry High (iOS and Android mobile code) are critical independent developer resources that we use regularly, and consider a valuable part of our team.

Our software has changed dramatically from the early days. As the number and needs of the RPMS client base have increased, so has the sophistication of the product line. Today RPMS offers traditional desktop and LAN systems, as well as a cloud-based offering we call RPMSCloud, and an app for Apple and Android mobile devices called RepLink. Rep firms can install modules for Electronic Data Uploading, Forecasting, Direct Marketing, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, Opportunity and Activity tracking, and more. Our Relationships
Our growth has been fueled by our commitment to continuous development and our outstanding, toll-free, USA based customer support. These efforts have helped us create alliances and strategic relationships with a number of top rep and industry associations. We work with and for members of these associations on a daily basis.
